V-House is a house with a private practice in the ‘Blankenbergse polders’. The client’s question was to create a clear separate identity for the house and for the private practice while retaining the necessary privacy.

The volume is threefold – a connecting element has been introduced between the practice and the home, to be the entrance for the house and to provide for the connection internally with the practice. Using two contrasting materials, the practice is characterized by black wood and the house by red facing brick. Placing the access deeper in the volume accentuates it and protects the privacy of both residents and visitors of the private practice.

In the project we handle a timber frame construction to realize an energetically efficient shell. In addition, this way of building provides a lighter construction that is better suited for a polder-like area.
