The new Private Practice is a combination of renovating the ground floor of the existing manor house and extending it with a new intervention. U/Define designed it so that the upper floors are available for future changes within the Private Practice.
With the existing building having a large drive-through we stretched the designed extension so that it is possible for patients to see the entrance of the new Private Practice. By turning the new volume around a patio extra daylight was obtained and a distinction between the public entrance and waiting area and the private consultation rooms became physically obvious. The ground floor of the existing building was renovated as back-office.
A distinct contrast in the new facade materials helps the patients to visually see the new intervention and guides them towards the new entrance.
